She founded one of Texas’ leading abortion funds and worked tirelessly to make sure women across the state still got abortions.
A decade ago, Lenzi was a 20-year-old college student and committed abortion activist. At the time, Texas was making headlines across the nation for passing one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country—House Bill 2. Despite a dramatic 13-hour filibuster by former State Senator Wendy Davis, the law passed, resulting in the closure of 21 abortion clinics across Texas.
